French diet
It has been a long while since I have been on my blog. Those of you who read, I apologize. I started getting chubby from all the baking. Plus, holidays happened, new semester at school, work and my household kept me from writing. I love for baking comes and goes, but my love for cooking lasts forever. Lately I have been seriously into French cooking. I love the small portions, great variety, and all the flavors French cuisine has to offer. Since we started our "Biggest Loser" contest at work, I have been the only one not losing. I was all wrapped up in a hectic schedule, not eating all day and then having a huge dinner. I decided to read a bit on different diets since the metabolism quiz did not help me and found that a lot of great food doesn't have to be low fat and low calorie. I found it is the amount you eat that matters. This is for my body type anyway. So after a little research, Jared and I decided to go on a French diet. I begin cooking our entrée and while that is cooking I heat up some soup. Lately we have been eating roasted red pepper and tomato soup by Pacific Natural Foods brand. After that we eat our entrée which will include a protein and a vegetable. After that, we have our salad, which consists strictly of a romaine lettuce drizzled with olive oil. Later in our meal we have plain yogurt with honey or some kind of fruit and finally a little cheese and I make some tea. He drinks water, I drink my one glass of red wine and water. Dinner lasts much longer, he helps me in the kitchen, we watch less TV, spend more time together- doing something together- cleaning the kitchen in between meals and having more time for...other things ;) I will post dinner plans for my entire week as well as the meals we made for our friends over the Presidents day holiday. Bon Appetit!
